Stuck (Solo Acoustic)
03:49
|

lying in your bed in the lonely dark
cold wind blows and the blanket won’t keep you warm
crying out for comfort from the storm
but your old and weary bones can’t escape the harm
the radiation won’t be your salvation
and you’re not sure Jesus is watching over you
but hey there while you’re stuck here I just want to say
if you take my hand I can’t take away the pain
and I don’t have the answer to your blues
but maybe I could sit for a while and be stuck with you
on the death train watching the world go by
through misty mountains on tracks that reach the sky
and if we had wings we might jump out and fly
well where would we go, what wonders would we see
some day we’ll all be wrapped up in eternity
on the death train watching the world go by
from shady valleys we can only wonder why
and if I had a way to step off I’d stay alive
but then I’d be alone as the train rolled on and on
and maybe I’d be free but I’d rather you were with me
on the death train, I’d rather you were with me
on the death train, I’d rather you were with me
on the death train, I’d rather you were with me

well we fell through a crack in the earth
on our backs we could see the sky
burning blind eyes into stars
and we felt our way around
beneath the broken and brittle ground
in the darkness we found a little light
this train is gonna take us down
six feet under
the worms are gonna rip our skin
it makes me wonder
the roots are gonna drink us dry
but who can blame them
in the end we all go back to the start
six feet under

Empty (Refilled)
04:16

That which you fear the most is death
You don’t know when or where or how, but it’s coming
Like a freight train horn in the night it’ll pull you away
And all the happiest times and the best things just fade
I watch the trees as they sway in the breeze and the leaves start falling
I sit helplessly as the air turns cold and the snow starts falling
And I can’t go back inside
I’m in the cold and black but it’s all right
That’s the way it starts and the way it ends
And everything in between is just an illusion
I get caught in the rain and I’m washed into a chasm
It’s so empty inside, like a teardrop that’s run dry
There’s a pain in his chest and a weakness in her knees
There’s a cancer inside and it’s making it hard to breathe
And the sun and the moon and the forests and mountains and oceans
All the people and places and sights and smells and sounds
They disappear as fast as they came
And the words you hear don’t mean a thing
And I can’t feel my limbs any more
And my heart and soul are slowing down
Today is the first day of the rest of my life
